At Loch Frisa, the two adults which hold territory there were originally filmed by the BBC’s Springwatch programme in 2005 and have been filmed frequently since. The female there (called Frisa) is now 20 years old and her mate (called Skye, where he fledged) is 18. Most years they build a new nest and attempt to raise two chicks. As their nest location often changes each year so does the location of the Eagle Hide so please check the details before setting out.
By visiting and supporting the Eagle Hide project you will be helping to support many island-based community projects as income raised at the hide (£6 adults/£3 children) goes back to a fund managed by the Mull & Iona Community Trust. Groups on the island can then apply to the Eagle Fund for small grants to support their work including such diverse projects as the Young Musicians of Mull, playgroups, senior citizens clubs, youth clubs, girl guides, church halls, Mull athletics and various local school projects.

If you happen to come across a nest by accident, please leave the area immediately and if you happen to see anyone disturbing eagles or other wildlife here please let the Police or RSPB know.
We want our eagles to be here nesting safely for many generations to come. We would also be interested to hear of any sightings you have and in particular of any wing tagged sea eagles whose tags you’ve been able to read. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

The Mull Eagle Hide is the only-known facility in the world which allows direct, live viewing of a sea eagle’s nest. If possible there may also be live CCTV pictures of the nest at the hide and via a webcam. Once persecuted to extinction on the isles and throughout their UK range, sea eagles are now back home again in Scotland and are a valuable part of island life and contribute substantially to the local economy. We hope you enjoy your visit to Mull – the Home of the Sea Eagle!
