Aros Park
is situated just a mile from Tobermory
on the A848. To reach the main car park
travel down the main drive for about
three-quarters of a mile. There is
parking for approximately 40 cars,
picnic areas and public conveniences.
The park is a great place
for children. There are numerous play
areas with climbing equipment and swings
located around the park. Aros Loch is
well stocked with the mouth-watering
rainbow trout and the permits are only
£5.00 per day for children. These can be
purchased from Brown's Ironmongers in
Tobermory. There is no fishing on a
Sunday.
Children will also
enjoy the excellent woodland walks and
cascading waterfalls. There are three
popular walks in the park, the Coastal
Trail to Tobermory, the Lochan Path, a
gentle walk around Aros Loch and the
Path to the Lower Falls. All these
tracks have been waymarked by the
Forestry Commission. For more
information on walking from Tobermory to the park

here.
Walks and
Environmental Activities are often being
run in the Park, either by arrangement
or through the 'What's on?' Programme.
For more details contact the Mull and
Iona Ranger Service on Tel: 01680

Brown's Ironmongers or read the local
press.
There is a fabulous
website on the history of Aros Park
which was researched and written by June
Saul. The youngsters (and parents) might
enjoy reading this site before their
trip to the Isle of Mull. To go to the
website
click here. This project was carried
out with the support of the Millennium
Forest for Scotland Trust and as well as
a short history of the estate there is
also information on the wildlife to be
found in the park.
