Public Transport on Mull

West Coast Motors (01680 812313) run bus services from from Craignure (the main ferry terminal for Mull) to Tobermory and to Fionnphort (for Iona). The Tobermory bus calls at Fishnish ferry in both directions.

There is also a service from Tobermory to Dervaig and Calgary.

West Coast Motors also operate tour buses to Tobermory and to Fionnphort for Iona, Staffa (Fingal's Cave) and Lunga (Puffins). See the West Coast Motors web site for further details.

Argyll & Bute Council in co-operation with Mull and Iona Sustainable Transport (MIST) have produced a new and comprehensive Public Transport Guide to Mull and Iona, which you can download and print. In addition to buses, taxis and bike hire on the island the guide also includes Ferry, Train and Bus connection to and from Mull. The current edition covers the winter timetables up to 24th March 2016.

Craignure to Tobermory

Journey time 45 minutes each way.  Service Number 495.

The bus meets most ferries. Check with West Coast Motors (01680 812313) for details.

You can get from Tobermory to Fionnphort (or vice versa) by bus, changing in Craignure, but there's not always a connection. Check both timetables before travelling.

There are NO service buses on Sundays in Winter (21 Oct 2014 to 1 April 2015).

Please contact West Coast Motors for full details, and check that there is a bus meeting your ferry. In winter there are fewer ferries, and therefore fewer buses.

Tobermory to Dervaig and Calgary

Ulva Ferry Community Bus

The bus runs a twice daily scheduled return service between Calgary and Salen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. This is a request service. If there are no bookings the service will not run. The service needs to be booked by 16:00hrs on the day before you wish to travel, though it can be booked further in advance.

By also using the West Coast Motors service from Tobermory to Calgary and Salen to Tobermory you can now do the complete circuit of North Mull to/from Tobermory by public transport and even have some time at Calgary.

Outside of the scheduled service anyone resident on Mull and Iona can use the community bus by arrangement. The minibus is also available for hire to individuals and not for profit organisations. The bus has a wheel-chair lift.
